How are moves and accuracy evaluated?
Stockfish 19 Lite evaluations can change with deeper analysis. Chesser accuracy is a learning guide; it does not determine a rating or fair play.We compare a move with the engine's first choice: a loss up to 0.15 pawns is excellent, up to 0.50 is good, up to 1.10 is an inaccuracy, up to 2.50 is a mistake, and more is a blunder.
The position index is I(cp) = 100 / (1 + exp(−cp / 300)), where cp is White's evaluation in centipawns. Index loss is measured from the moving player's side, with negative loss set to zero. Move accuracy = 100 × exp(−0.045 × index loss). The engine's first choice receives 100. Game accuracy is the mean of that player's evaluated moves. Moves from positions already finished by the rules are not evaluated.
This is Chesser's own approximate scale, not a measured winning probability or the Chess.com or Lichess formula. Position complexity and search depth affect the result. High accuracy or a strong move alone is not evidence of cheating.
